Belgian insurer (Employee Benefits)
Project:
Support in bringing about a performance management culture and in developing operational dashboards for increasing productivity.
Situation:
In line with their ‘Operational Excellence’ programme, the insurer’s ‘Employee Benefits’ department wanted to professionalize its strategies in view of increasing employee productivity. Productivity at a higher management level was already being monitored. The goal was to implement productivity coaching at team leader level as well.
Radius project:
We started off at first and second line management level with a collective awareness session. We pointed out the importance of guidance and coaching using objective data. Managers learnt to coach individual employee performance in a modern, transparent manner. We collectively arrived at a common definition of productivity and of the methods for measuring productivity. We then developed, for each manager, operational dashboards based on a common framework. Consolidation at a higher level thus became possible.
Result:
- Usable operational dashboard for each team
- Consolidated dashboard for the entire department
- Instrument for data registration and for measuring KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)
- Ownership of dashboards
- Common vision of the use and usage of performance indicators


The hard targets have been achieved. Our productivity has improved by 13% and will keep improving in the next months.
